In what seems to be an incredibly rewarding career, teachers have the opportunity to ignite, engage and inspire a younger generation.
Education courses for future teachers can vary in structure and delivery. They might be a single degree (Bachelor of Education - Primary, Secondary or Early Childhood) or double degrees with an education undergraduate (Bachelor of Education) or a postgraduate (Master of Teaching).
A common comment we hear in our feedback is that parts of the course can be intense, so be prepared. We also typically (and fortunately) see strong ratings for teachers in the education courses.
Often courses will involve some sort of placement which aims to prepare the student for the teaching world. These are typically great experiences for students to put into practice what they've learnt. However, it does also seem to sometimes create friction for the student - so research, understand and prepare for what's required and when.
