I'm majoring in Mechanical engineering.
Positives: As I am from India, this is an accredited course eligible for P.R and also lot of Indian students are studying it. We are a class of about 60 Indian students.
Negatives: First one is that uni schedule of time table is not good.
The fees are high for a Uni that is not much good. There also some scheduling of classes that are not good so it doesn't allow the students to get a proper part time job.
Positive - there are so many areas that are really interesting and as you learn, you're able to see and understand the development and progression of technologies/processes/thinking. There are some interesting clubs to be involved with if you choose.
The practical component, while pretty short, is a good feature to have.
Negative - there feels like a lot of unnecessary work that you have to go through in some of the subjects. The teachers are interesting but some could be a bit more engaging.
My advice to future students is: It's really intensive when compared to other courses - be prepared to be spending a lot of time at uni, but embrace it.
