I find Uni.. Great
Positives: The stuff we learned is from real industry and up
Negatives: Some courses such as MGMT are boring, and grades of students are really low
My advice to future students is: Be happy
Positives: Interesting content
Negatives: Can be unfocused at times
My advice to future students is: Spend some time researching what degree you definitely want to do
Positives: It’s so interactive, classes are small and personal. Everyone is so passionate and that really helps with learning
Negatives: Sometimes it’s a bit unorganised
My advice to future students is: Stay on top of your work. You don’t have to go to every lecture but you should catch up on it within a week or two or you’ll fall behind
Positives: The campus had fantastic facilities and great staff. The degree was challenging but offered adequate room for growth and exploration. I completed a psychology major and there were plenty of courses to choose from that complimented my interests.
Negatives: Not a lot of negatives however at time the class sizes felt very large. Depending on the type of student you are, this can have an impact on results and I felt as though I didn't do as well as I could have in my first year because there was little support.
My advice to future students is: Make sure you are a self starter and really dedicated to the course or you will struggle to keep up .
Good mix of practical and theoretical components. Covers basic neuroscience (my major) across broad topics.
Negatives were the first 3 years made up of core science subjects ie nothing to do with elective/major. Only focused on your major in the late 3rd/4th year
My advice to future students is: Study what you’re passionate about
Positive, it was fun.
Negative I didn't learn useful transferable skills for the workplace
My advice to future students is: Spend time learning useful skills outside of class because class had none
It's a relatively small and hence its hard to socialise within the course but otherwise the course is interesting
My advice to future students is: make sure you keep up with studies.
Positives - The courses offered are really interesting and well run, the professors are excellent, and the facilities for the course in UNSW are excellent.
Negative - The heavy fees
My advice to future students is: Enjoy uni life. UNSW has a lot to offer
I found this slightly boring as it's a lot of revision from high school and common sense
