Positives: The facilities and Labs that are available at the university are very encouraging, allowing all students to preform there best. There Professors are very experienced and friendly and provide a lot of support. Online recorded lectures are also available to all students. The formatting and the course structure is straight forward and students know whats expected from them as well.

Negatives: The negative aspect I believe would be, studying subjects that are much unrelated to the course that we are doing such as statistics or communication. A lot of our assignments are due at the end of the semester creating a lot of pressure on students. Another negative would be that theres no guaranteed entry into medicine.

My advice to future students is: The university is amazing, but be prepared for the pressure and tasks that you would be given, but if your always up to date with whats given to you from those tasks than you should definitely get excellent results. There is alot of potential to this course and a lot of pathways and advice that you'll be given from both peers and lectures and even lab demonstrators. Overall its a good experience thats not always educational but also entertaining and you should make the most of your time there.

Positives: There was a subject which was completely based in the field and this allowed us to fully understand the forest and mountain ecology on the eastern side of Australia. There were some very dedicated teachers which were very active in practicals.

Negatives: There was a lack of practicals. Especially in field practicals and excursions which helped us gather knowledge. I wasn’t a proactive uni student. UTS lacked in the social aspects of uni.

My advice to future students is: Enjoy University! Go to lectures even if they are boring just grab a coffee and try to switch one. You will live off coffee and eye drops. Join social clubs like ultimate frisbee it’s really fun and let’s you meet new fun people!

Positives: The course provides all the required knowledge that a medical science student would require including background in both Chemistry and Physics as well as a focus on Biology and medicine.

Negatives: While a more rounded knowledge is ideal, it may be an annoyance as some subjects such as physics can be quite difficult.

My advice to future students is: If you have a passion for medicine or nursing then this course would be ideal if your ATAR doesn't quite cut it or you require some ground work before jumping into the real deal

Positives: This degree provides a wide range of options for someone who is unsure of which field to specialise in, such as myself. Another positive aspect of this course is the facilities that are provided at UTS such as the labs, namely the Super Lab that is modern and quite updated. It provides students with a touch-screen monitor each which is a very useful tool and has all the equipment that is expected in a university laboratory.

Negatives: A slight negative aspect is the odd layout of the campus with buildings scattered around the city that may be confusing to navigate around but will eventually become familiar after a certain amount of time.

My advice to future students is: To definitely take Chemistry and Physics in high school, as while they are not a prerequisite, will make time (especially first year) at University with this course much easier to handle.

I did a Maths & Finance major

I was disappointed as the course did not go deep enough into analytical programs.

My advice to future students is: I'd recommend going to a different uni to study in this area
