Positives: The money from the scholarship, friends and connections you make, internships provided as part of the course
Negatives: Not enough technical subjects, repeated content through the subjects
My advice to future students is: Learn more technical stuff through your electives, at your internships, or in your own time
Positive- Lots of career options, flexible study load, great campus location. My course is also very high in demand, has good job opportunities and a high employability rate and competitive salaries. Does not require background in IT.
My advice to future students is: This degree is a great opportunity to gain IT skills in order to get a competitive job in an increasingly net-based/virtual world
Positives: Very interesting, rich in information and diversity and labs
Negatives: You need to always learn and study new things and be up to date to know every new added features and services
My advice to future students is: Try to get benefit from every detail and be able to learn at every moment
Positives: Well from my 4 years of experience in uni, I would say the aspects of meeting new people to form new connections and to do group activities to accomplish something. Those are what I believe are my positive aspects of my course.
Negatives: Definitely studying full time especially working part time as well can sometimes leave you with no time available to go out for social events during a semester.
My advice to future students is: Don't study all the time, enjoy and explore different experiences & opportunities outside of university
Positives: Some of the units (Networking Essentials/Routing and Internetworks/Web Systems) are very practical and hands on. They allow you to configure routers and create your own websites too
Negatives: Most of the lecturers and tutors have a very strong accent, which makes it hard to understand them. Also, some of them seem like they are not enthusiastic about the course, which makes the subjects feel quite boring. Many of the subjects i've done also rely on the students teaching themselves most of the content.
My advice to future students is: Make friends early on during the course, Stay on top of chapter readings!!
I like that it stays relevant with current trends and prepares us for the future- it keeps in mind to be aware of what to do after the course. Also I get to work with industry clients and do a lot of presentations which has improved my confidence heaps.
My advice to future students is: Have a balanced lifestyle- make sure that you make time to study but also to have a good social life in order to maintain a happier uni lifestyle and enjoy your time there.
Positive aspect: It is related to industry and I was able to learn about technical and innovative aspects of today's world. Negative aspect: Some teachers were from china who don't have proper communication skills and assignments were too big and have do in short period of time
My advice to future students is: Go and learn, ask questions, take benefits of University stuffs like computer, printer and other sports activities.
Good course content and structure, although the semesters are too short making it challenging.
I'd recommend future students to just be sure of the course you're applying for.
