This is a great course for teacher preparation.
It involves many practical opportunities and the lecturers and academic staff are awesome.
Positives: The practical elements
Negatives: The contradiction
My advice to future students is: Study hard for all of the big essays
I'm studying this with Science.
Positives: This course is structured quite well, with a range of theoretical and practical subjects. The combination of the two degrees together is great, as it allows for flexibility in employment options as well as a thorough knowledge of the chosen teaching subject area. For the most part, the lecturers and tutors are friendly, engaging and keen to assist students in achieving the best results they can.
Negatives: No major negative aspects! Obviously the experience differs depending on your specific lecturers and chosen courses, but on a whole this is a well-run program that takes student feedback into account in order to improve for future students.
My advice to future students is: Go for it! It's a great course and you end up with two degrees, which is great! Make sure you pick a subject area you really like and want to get an in-depth knowledge in, not just something you're content to teach at a high school level. Your knowledge at the end of the program is going to be way beyond what you might originally think is expected, so take opportunities as they come and stay on top of your study load and you'll be fine!
