Positives: So much hands on experience through all the practicals that we have throughout the semesters. From the first week we were in the anatomy labs with cadavers. I think the hands on experience is where I learn the most

Negatives: The high number of placements throughout the degree can be disruptive to your social life, the intensive course content is stressful to study for before an exam.

My advice to future students is: Stay organised and don't fall behind on the study load and you'll pass easily. Be confident in placement and you will learn much more and it looks good because the placement sites are future employers

Positives: The ability to gain practical experience in both 2nd and 3rd year.
Gain likeminded friends that support your goals.

Negatives: The Lecture times and speed of certain lecturers speech can be overwhelming.
High content load when juggling 4 Units in a semester.

My advice to future students is: Before going into any degree, first search career pathways and see if your passions relate back to what you are studying in each unit.
Gain work placement prior to starting in a area of study to gain insights to what the career you are choosing is the right one for you.

Positives: 1) Course coordinators care about our feedback regarding the course and make amends accordingly (i.e. course coordinators are flexible)
2) Learning points are outlined clearly so we know what we are going to be tested on for exams
3) Interesting content!
4) There are some good tutors who really go the extra mile to teach us our stuff

Negatives: 1) There is some disparity in what we are taught, depending on tutor
2) Sometimes lecturers don't follow the learning points we are given and teach us something else we already know/don't need to know
3) Some tutors don't know what they're doing, and 1 or 2 of them don't bother to find out things for you if they're unclear on something/prefer to give you the wrong answer rather than admit they are wrong

My advice to future students is: Keep up to date with work and study consistently, prepare notes every weeks so you don't have to rush the notes at the end

Positives: This course offers subjects relevant to nursing management. You can pick electives which best suit your own individual career path and within each subject you can relate your work experience to what is learned.

This course is solely online making it very convenient to work and study at the same time.

The coursework for each subject is not time-consuming and is a mixture of short essays and exams.

Negatives: There are some subjects which are less flexible than others and expect examinations to be on at certain times - while notice is given for these exam times well in advance, it may be inconvenient for some.

Often the subject co-ordinator runs face-to-face versions of the same subject. The students in the face-to-face classes appear to be given more support than those studying online.

My advice to future students is: If you enrol in this course, email your subject co-ordinators to discuss anything you are confused about. They are always happy to reply to emails.
