Positives: It is a great field with a lot of flexibility for critical thinking and adaptation to different interests. It is current and there are constant possibilities for engagement with contemporary issues and politics.

Negatives: The subjects are well coordinated on paper but in practice/detail, the lecturers do little real coordination of curriculum. Additionally, it needs a more coherent critical position to remain relevant to contemporary political economy issues.

My advice to future students is: Be prepared to figure a lot of things out on your own, and read widely.
