Positives: Challenging. Leads us to independence and trains us to the practical world work experience thoroughly. The projects and assignments are mostly related to real life scenarios. Making us work in groups forms us well for the teamwork nature of the engineering profession
Negatives: The workload is very stressful. Specially because of self learning culture, handling assignments, projects and tests simultaneously can be very frustrating. While some lecturers are extremely helpful, others can be useless and we will be lost with the syllabus content
My advice to future students is: Be ready to commit and work to your best ability if you want to do well
Positives: Broaden my knowledge in IT field
Negatives: Lack of extra resources
My advice to future students is: Do more own research other than rely on faculty
Positives: The opportunity to be exposed to different types of naturals engineering backgrounds and attaining a much better understanding on the relationship between the materials, properties, design and manufacture with its end product performance.
Negatives: Would prefer to have more hands on practical studies
My advice to future students is: Having multiple assignments with the same deadlines is a common thing in materials eng, probably in most eng course, thus proper time management is crucial.
