Positives: Covers a wide range of subjects to prepare for a career in business information systems
Negatives: Not a lot of opportunities to intern or gain exposure
My advice to future students is: Be focused and attentive
Positives: While I am studying I gain more confidence on subjects and a new of online learning skills and resources are always help me to pass the subjects.
Negatives: They should provide more quality ITP projects to students and they should introduce internships.
My advice to future students is: It’s a great university for new students with lots of online and offline resources, on campus facilities and everything is great here for students and we should use all the resources and achieve success in the future.
Positives: One main positive aspects of this course is that it had only 45 credits per semester, which means I had to do only 3 subjects per semester. This made the assignments easier to complete. This course is well designed and covers only the relevant subjects required for ICT.
Negatives: One negative aspect of this course was the help from faculty. I did not receive much help from the faculty for doubts or assignments and I had to complete most of the course independently.
My advice to future students is: This is a good course as it is easy and involves lesser subjects. However, please have a look into the faculty before enrolling into this one.
Positives: Some of the positive aspects of this course are:
1. Course structure was well designed and covered most of the topics in IT
2. The course was flexible and I was given options to select the subjects that I like and interests me
3. Learnt about non technical aspects like giving presentations, giving talks, how to write a literature review and a thesis
Negatives: Some of the negative aspects of this course are:
1. Some of the topics in the subjects are very specific to a particular scenario than a general learning
2. The project work did not generate a positive outcome as the faculty was not serious about the projects done by the students ad many projects just went to waste and was never deployed or used anywhere.
My advice to future students is: Some advise I would like to give future students are:
1. Research on the course outcomes and learning before enrolling.
2. Read through the subject guide to ensure that it is exactly what you are looking for before enrolling into any of the subjects.
Positives: Getting in touch with cutting edge technology
Negatives: requires lot of research
My advice to future students is: if you are really interested in technology then only take this subject
Positives: I have already finished my bachelors in same course so its continued to that.
Secondly, I do love networking and some system design architecture, and here in this course, it contains both of them.
Negatives: Few things in this course is repeating from my previous studies which I already know
My advice to future students is: If you have interest in systems and how to manage it, then you should definitely go with this course
Positives: I like the way course has been planned. It is very up to date according to the industry requirements. Moreover, we have an option to select elective subjects from a very diverse pool of subjects. I found the quality of the assignments challenging and a great way to demonstrate the skills acquired. The course also has subjects to learn while working at industry that is industry based learning. For that you get credits and experience at the same time. There is also mandatory subject which helps students to learn professional ethics. You get an industry project and work as a team to complete it.
Negatives: Being a master degree, I expected the course to have more depth but to my surprise the subjects are the same for bachelor and master degree. The practical labs in some subjects are too easy and does not have much contribution to the final marks. The ration of students to the teacher is not optimal.
My advice to future students is: I would say that if you are looking for more depth knowledge try to get into a research based course. Also, be aware that this course would not challenge you much. The assignments could be too easy considering it is an master degree. But if you want a good environment and awesome faculties then this course is a right choice.
Positive was the extra opportunities such as placement in 3rd year.
Negative would be that being a regional campus means that the campus lacks some of the resources required for a wider selection of direction in the course (e.g. lecturers, technologies such as certain types of computers, etc.)
My advice to future students is: It's really not as hard as high school, as long as your willing to apply yourself into your interests
Don't assume this will open up the possibility of more IT jobs automatically, it will depend on your background.
My advice to future students is: This is a good combination of business and IT. You should consider it if your background is IT.
Positive aspect : New course New Opportunities
Negative aspect: Only temp or contract jobs seem to be popular
My advice to future students is: Do online courses for hands on experience on analytical tools to enhance your skill set
