About La Trobe

La Trobe has a flagship campus located in the suburb of Bundoora, Melbourne. The university also has two smaller campuses in Melbourne's CBD, Bendigo, Albury-Wodonga, Mildura, Shepparton. In 2015, La Trobe had a total of 36,746 student enrolments.

We have a range of student reviews for La Trobe ranging across Arts, Law, Business (Accounting, Sports Management & more), Education (Primary & Secondary), Health (Nursing, Exercise Science, Physiotherapy), IT and Sciences.

Some of the common advice we hear from students includes:
Utilise the Uni's support services. Ask staff questions (in class or via email) whenever you need. Don't be afraid to ask for advice;
Get involved in clubs and societies - it's easy to make friends;
Figure out how you're going to get to Uni (for Bundoora students);
Try to get work experience as well as study (some courses include this)
Work hard and have fun

Positives: The animal and agriculture subjects are fun and interesting. The labs in which the experiments or science workshops are done in are well equipped and it’s very enjoyable.

Negatives: As with most unis, sometimes you have to to electives when you just want to get on with your coursework. You have to do two chemistry subjects and a maths one as well.

My advice to future students is: Try to make friends early on so you don’t end up feeling lonely, and so you can have people to study with! Much better than alone. Pay attention in your labs as a lot of the content is taught there in a practical way to help you understand all the concepts. And don’t forget your lab coat or goggles because they charge you for a rental now!
