Positives: The main benefit which is the exact reason for choosing Flinders University is the professional accreditation and recognition it has from the Design Institute of Australia. Without it my degree would be useless in my chosen career field.

Negatives: The first year subjects are quite challenging. A lot to take in, so be prepared!

My advice to future students is: Make sure you’re an independent learner and can get things in on time, if you’re not, then concentrate on surrounding yourself around ones who will motivate you!

Positives: Course covered several components of modern accounting and finance industry. There was a good balance of theory and practical study. I got to work with other students as a team which is a valuable experience for future employment.

Negatives: While financial study proved to be invaluable for future employment, accounting study is very much outdated as modern technology has replaced the need for basic accounting. However, for a career in accounting, it is an essential study and as such you must undertake it.

My advice to future students is: Take advantage of industry network opportunities that are available during course to connect with future employers
