Positive aspects: The University isn't too restrict with attendance and the price, compared to other institutions, isn't extremely expensive. Subjects are according to market needs and professors have good knowledge about what is being taught, although the best professionals are extremely academic focused.
CQU also provides excellent scholarship conditions, so students are able to keep the maximum of 20% discount during the whole course. The campus is located in CBD and it’s easy to commute and buy affordable food, if you have classes throughout the day.

Negative aspects: international students are segregated from national and there isn't room for improving English speaking skills. Majority of students are Indians and Nepalese, which decreases diversity of nationalities, making the experience of studying in Australia poorer.
Lectures and tutorials’ material aren’t attractive and Power Points slides are still being used.
Building campus has poor maintenance and, due lack of strict supervision and punishment, students leave trash traces everywhere.

My advice to future students is: If you are looking for a medium quality University, affordable and close to CBD, CQU is a good option.

I'm studying a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Nursing.

Positives: Flexibility for the bachelor of business, I study it distance education and 80% of it doesn't have to be in a certain order

Negatives: Bachelor of Nursing is not flexible which makes it hard to do part time

My advice to future students is: Make sure you look into both degrees very early on, especially if you haven't got all your immunisation

Positives: It includes practicals every year to slowly introduce real-life teaching strategies and problem solving into the course. Ensuring that continual implementation of the strategies learnt throughout the course helps students to better understand and use the skills learnt in class.

Negatives: Some of the tutors focus on the whole content instead of the important essentials that are needed to pass the assignments to complete the course.

My advice to future students is: Keep up to date with the weekly class work and work on time management. Ensure that you have an effective balance between work, study and leisure
